Since finding out I was gluten intolerant a little over a year ago, I’ve scoured the blogging world looking for a few good (and easy) recipes! It’s been a battle, to say the least, to eat gluten free. Most gluten free products are rice, potato and other starches and I’ve found those too make me sick. Several months ago I came across The Spunky Coconut…the most fantastic gluten free blog! Kelly is an inspiration. She uses mostly coconut flour (and other nuts)…I am a HUGE coconut fan. I love the taste texture, and that it helps my thyroid. I love that coconut flour is easy to use and has great flavor!
Zero Waste?
I saw this video bouncing around the blogosphere a couple weeks ago and wanted to share it. I found it particularly interesting:
(I can’t get the video to upload into the post, but here is the link)

30 Day SHRED with Jillian Michaels
The past week and a half my facebook and the blogs I frequent have been fluttering with talk of Jillian Michaels 30-Day Shred. Last week I made the decision to join in the 30-Day challenge many fellow bloggers are joining in and I ordered my DVD from Amazon. I recently purchased P90X and began that program; great workouts…but unfortunately I was having a really difficulty time finding the 60+ minutes each day to devote to sweating my booty off! Talk has been positive of Jillian’s 30 day program and I am LOVING IT…but a bit sore after day 3!

It’s Friday: Fabulous, Frugal Finds!
Sorry, no descriptions or coupon match-ups today! Here’s a glimpse into what I’ve been buying over the past two weeks!
Kroger (Mega Sale); I hit Kroger once this week and once last week to take advantage of the MEGA SALE (grabbed some great items for donation)! I used manufacture coupons for everything purchased except the managers special fish!
My favorite find, non-mega sale, was the plackers: they were on sale BUY1GET1 FREE(unadvertised) and had 35¢ peelie coupons on them that tripled, I Paid 89¢ for two 90 count packages! These are my husbands favorite flossing tool!

Albertsons (last week):
I used $1 off Marcal TP, Tuna was $1 each used 55¢ coupons, reusable shopping bag was free with survey code from receipt, chicken was BUY1GETt2 FREE and libbys were on sale 50¢ each and used (2) $1.00 off 3 printable.
Walmart: I wanted to shop at Sprouts, but my closest Sprouts is a good 25 min. drive and didn’t have time to make it there on Wednesday (when Sprouts circulars overlap and I can hit two sales in one day). So I price matched produce at the “nicer” Walmart!
Ball plastic canning lids used Buy2Get1 Free, Ball Discovery Canning kits used $2 off coupon, price matched the following to Sprouts: strawberries 97¢ lb., grapes 88¢ lb., radishes 49¢ bunch, celery 88¢ each! Avocados 44¢ each used $1/2 and $1.50/4 printable coupon. (2) Eggs $1.77 each used (2) 75¢ off printables. Apple and Eve juice boxes $2.48 used $1 coupon!
TJMaxx: No picture! I found a great deal on a set of two German Ceramic frying pans, $14.99 for both! They are amazing too, no butter or oil needed!
FREE Flip-Flops!
Remember the $10 coupon code Famous Footwear issued via facebook? Well, my FREE shoes came last week and they’re great!

I ordered these for my husband, they are mens after-all! But lucky for me we wear the same size shoes (yeah yeah, I have big feet)! They’re a little wide for me but they are really comfortable…we may have to share! Just another reason I love coupons…in all forms!
What goes in your Big-Blue-Bin?
I feel fortunate to live in a city that offers a great recycling program. At our previous residence we didn’t have the luxury of someone picking up our recycling which resulted in our family exerting very little effort to recycle.

We currently have a large, 65-gallon blue recycling can with wheels. In fact our recycle bin is as large as our garbage can and we fill it to the brim weekly. More often than not, we have a meager 1-2 trash bag and an overflowing recycling bin. Our city even offers additional recycling bins at no charge to residents, which is great! I personally love that we can recycle almost anything and not have to pre-sort, that’s done at the recycling center. The following materials are accepted as recyclable in my city:
Glass containers, Aluminum cans, Tin cans, Aerosol cans, Steel cans, Telephone books / paperback books, Paperboard / chipboard, Mixed paper, Paper grocery bags, Newspaper, magazines, catalogs, Corrugated cardboard, #1 Plastic, #2 Plastic, #3 Plastic, #4 Plastic, #5 Plastic, #6 Plastic, #7 Plastic…
My seven year old daughter had a conversation with an adult friend several months ago about the numbers on recyclable items. I’d seen them but never paid much attention. She elaborated and explained her knowledge about the numbers. Today, I ran across this article defining and describing the meanings of each number. There are seven numbers in total and each represents the different plastics used. I found this article very informative and wanted to share. I think it’s important to recycle, I enjoy doing it. I also appreciate better understanding what it means to properly recycle.
